European Society of Criminology Annual Conference Liege Belgium, 7th-11th September 2011


Abstract Submission deadline is extended until June 23rd , 2011. 
It is a great pleasure to invite you to the 11th Annual Conference of the European Society of Criminology "Rethinking Crime and Punishment in Europe". According to the organisers’ view, this topic not only invites us to reflect upon the basic and classical criminological ideas from a contemporary perspective, but also proposes to discuss their current transformation, modification, and new developments. 


Through keynote speeches by outstanding scholars and many parallel sessions, the Conference presents an overview of the latest developments in criminology, both in theoretical fields and in the areas of application and management. 
The ESC 2011 will be hosted by Vilnius University, the Law Institute of Lithuania, the Centre for Crime Prevention in Lithuania and the Lithuanian Association of Criminology and will be held in the picturesque, UNESCO World Heritage listed, city of Vilnius in Lithuania from September 21st  to September 24th, 2011. 

Abstract Submission

General informationThe Organizing and the Scientific Committees of the 11th Annual Conference of ESC welcomes all delegates for the abstract submission!

Abstract Submission deadline is extended until June 23rd , 2011. Abstracts can be submitted for oral or poster presentations following the instructions below. All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Accepted abstracts of the Conference participants will be published in the Abstract Book.

Conference Secretariat will inform the abstract submitter about the acceptance / rejection of submitted abstracts by e-mail. (Please contact Conference Secretariat if you have not received your e-mail notification by the end of the early registration). The abstract submitter is responsible for informing all co-authors about the status of the abstract.

Submission guidelines:
1. Abstracts must be submitted in English.

2. Titles should be entered in the "Title Field" (not as part of the abstract) and should contain no more than 100 characters including spaces.

3. Abstract text should be entered in the "Abstract Text Field" and should contain no more than 1000 characters according to presentation form. The system will not allow you to enter more than 1000 characters. Please use single spacing with no extra space between paragraphs. Do not leave blank lines. Use standard abbreviations. Place a special or unusual abbreviation in parenthesis after the full word the first time it appears.  Write numbers as numerals rather than words.

4. Authors' names and institutions should be entered in the appropriate fields. The following data is required - name of the institution, department, position, city and country.

5. Please choose one if the main topics provided in the list, corresponding to your abstract topic.

6. Please indicate the keywords (max. 5 words accepted).

7. Please indicate if you would agree to moderate a work panel to be organized during the conference.

8. It is the author‘s responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar, or scientific fact will be reproduced as typed by the author. Changes to abstracts are only possible if you have not completed the abstract submission on line. After submitting the abstract, no changes are accepted.
